Summer’s here! Warmer weather, lots of sunshine, and making great memories with your friends and family are on the agenda again. Summer for many means fun outdoor get-togethers and maybe a trip or two with the family. Inevitably, the cell phones are going to come out and selfies and group photos will be snapped, tweeted, and shared. If one of your goals this summer is to have a smile you’re excited to bare, we’re going to tell you about some cosmetic dentistry treatments that can help you want to show it off a little more this summer.
In-Office Teeth Whitening
Teeth whitening is one of the most popular cosmetic dentistry treatments we offer at our practice. It’s simple, inexpensive, and can dramatically improve the appearance of your smile without spending too much time in the dentist’s chair.
In-office teeth whitening is not the same as the over-the-counter whitening treatments you pick up in the grocery store. Our products are formulated to minimize gum and tooth sensitivity and can help get your teeth several shades whiter. Our preferred in-office whitening treatment is Opalescence Boost.
Veneers
Ever wonder how your favorite TV and movies stars seem to have such perfect smiles? Spoiler alert: most of them weren’t born with perfectly spaced, white teeth. Many Hollywood celebrities have had their cosmetic dentists prepare and place veneers on their teeth.
Veneers are usually a multi-appointment treatment, typically completed in 2-3 visits, and can be used to treat chipped teeth, gapped teeth, stained teeth, and can help improve the appearance of smiles with alignment issues. Veneers are made from two materials, a special type of resin or porcelain. Porcelain veneers tend to be a little more common because of their durability and anti-staining properties.
Veneers are small wafer-like pieces of durable material custom made to look like your teeth and fit the natural shape and contours of them. Once your teeth are gently prepared, the veneers are fitted and bonded to your teeth, giving your smile a brand-new look.
A Professional Cleaning from Our Amazing Hygienist
Even if you’re not quite looking for a smile makeover, ask yourself when was the last time you had your teeth professionally cleaned? If the answer is longer than six months ago or you don’t know, consider scheduling an appointment to have an exam and dental cleaning. It can be a good time to ask your dentist or a dental hygienist for any cosmetic dentistry recommendations they might have for your smile and specific conditions.
